??Suddenly, they saw two men, Moses and Elijah, talking to him.? Luke 9:30, NRSV ??If I could have a beer with Jesus. Heaven knows I??d sip it nice and slow?I??d be sure to let him do the talkin??. Careful when I got the chance to ask?Ask him how??d you turn the other cheek. To save a sorry soul like me. Do you hear the prayers I send. What happens when life ends. And when you think you??re comin back? What??s on the other side? Is mom and daddy alright? And if it ain??t no trouble tell them I said hi?? If I Could Have a Beer with Jesus, Thomas Rhett I was reminded of the country song whose words I reference above as I was preparing for confirmation class a few years ago. ??If I Could Have a Beer with Jesus?, hit the country charts back in 2012 and brings up a topic that we all might want to think about. If we could sit down with Jesus for an hour, what would we talk about? What are the questions that you would want to ask? If you could meet face-to-face with Jesus what one question would you ask him? Questions are good things, God expects us to question things in the world and in life. I have three questions in mind for us to consider. The questions get harder as I move down the line. So here is the first question; ??What one question about God, Jesus, your faith, your denomination, religion, etc., would you like to have answered or at least have a better understanding?? I think this is a fair question and it may shape discussions of other topics as well. Their second question will be, ??if you could meet face-to-face with Jesus what one question would you ask him.? This question I think might be just a bit harder than the first, but still isn??t what I feel is the hardest of the three questions I am going to ask. But it is a bit more focused than just what would you talk with Jesus about. The final question is along the same lines as the Jesus question, but I am upping the ante here. The third question is, ??if you could meet face-to-face with God what one question of God, what would that question be?? A much tougher question because you only get one shot so you need to make it good. I am challenging each of you to answer these three questions. No, you are not required to answer the questions; it is strictly optional. However, I hope you take up my challenge because it might give you some insight into where you are with your faith. In review here are those three questions again: 1. What one question about God, Jesus, your faith, your denomination, religion, etc., would you like to have answered or at least have a better understanding of? 2. If you could meet face-to-face with Jesus what one question would you ask him. 3. If you could meet face-to-face with God what one question would you ask God. Answer one of the questions, answer two of the questions, answer all three of the questions, or answer none of the questions. The choice is yours; if you do decide to answer any or all of the questions you may e-mail your questions to me at ureche1@aol.com or leave them in the office or the offering plate. You can sign your questions or you can remain anonymous. I am looking forward to hearing from many of you and helping to find answers to your questions.
